Bereavement, Grief and loss issues :Offered individually, in a family setting or in groups!
Grief and bereavement is a normal developmental transition in our life but it definitely doesn’t feel normal!!. We must remember that everyone will experience loss at some point. However, there is a difference between grief and bereavement. Grief describes the response to any type of loss. This could be: the loss of a pet, loss of a relationship, loss of family, finances or a business, loss of a culture or homeland, loss of a societal role or identity, relocation of a good friend who was your support or even a diagnosis of serious illness. Most people feel their lives have turned upside down or feel lost and confused about the future in the aftermath of a significant loss. As a grief and bereavement counselor, it is vital to recognize and honor the depth of sadness that a person encounters. Everyone’s grief and loss experience is different and it can take weeks, months or years to move forward. At Positive Breakthrough we recognize these secondary losses which society sometimes does not accept! Bereavement is the grief that involves the death of a loved one which can be highly traumatic. Grief and bereavement therapy can be instigated through individual, family sessions or even in groups. Let me be your guiding hand while you travel through this journey through the stages of grief!
